Images of Haliburton

by Lyn Winans

Lyn is an amateur photographer who has called the Highlands home for more than four decades. Always having an interest in nature, she attended the University of Waterloo and received an honours degree in Environmental Studies. Lyn loves to capture the beauty of the landscape and the creatures of Haliburton County, and is thrilled to share those images with the HHLT in an effort to preserve this special place we call home. Acknowledgment

Assistance in identifying the closeup photos in this Gallery came from several sources. Most identifications came from a meeting of the Haliburton Highlands Field Naturalists.

After that, Naturalist Ray Laughlen identified the dragonfly. Several scientists from the Ministry of Natural Resources helped fill in the blanks, including Gerry Moraal, Mike Turner, Wasyl Bakowsky, Bill Crins and Don Sutherland.
