Saturday, May 6, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon Where: Abbey Gardens, 1012 Garden Gate Dr., Haliburton (off Hwy 118 West of Haliburton) Cost : $5.00 which includes a bowl of homemade leek soup Leader: Carolyn Langdon and Belinda Gallagher You will take a guided walk through the property at Abbey Gardens and learn about wild leeks, spring wildflowers and wild edibles.

Wild Leeks, Edibles & Spring Wildflowers

Saturday, May 6, 10:00 am- 12:00 noon

Explore the woods at Abbey Gardens, view spring wildflowers and forage for wild edibles with food foresters Carolyn Langdon and Bellinda Gallagher.  We’ll hike the trails and learn about sustainable harvesting of leeks.  We will also learn about other spring wildflowers and their features. After our walk, come back to the kitchen to try some homemade potato and leek soup. (Other foods will also be available for purchase) Please register before attending to help with food preparation quantities.

Cost:  $5.00 per person, includes a bowl of homemade soup
