Marvelous Mushrooms

Saturday August 24
10:00 AM to noon
Barnum Creek Nature Reserve

Discover the fascinating world of mushrooms and other fungi with amateur naturalist Pat Burchell from the Mycological Society of Toronto. Find out about their role as nature's recyclers and their importance in forest ecology. Learn to recognize some of the many different types of mushrooms which can be found at this time of year such as gilled mushrooms, boletes, chanterelles, bracket fungi, cup fungi and others.

Participants should meet on Gould's Crossing Rd where it intersects the Rail Trail.  From there we can park and walk or carpool up the hill to the start.  Please meet at 9:45 at that location.

Admission by donation. Your generous donations help fund the work of the Haliburton Highlands Land Trust to protect and conserve land and species for future generations.
