Enviro-Heroes

Enviro-Heroes are recognized annually at our fundraising event. Individuals, businesses or organizations that have made a major contribution to the protection and sustainability of our natural resources and environment are awarded the Enviro-Hero awards.  

In 2013, we asked each of the four municipalities to nominate a winner for our Enviro-Heroes award.  The winners were:

Mark & Sandra Bramham – Highlands East
Lee Battison – Dysart et al.
Rob Davis – Minden Hills
Ted Koehler – Algonquin Highlands

The youth award went to the students from the Haliburton Highlands EcoTeam.

The Land Trust board of directors was also delighted to present Sheila Ziman with a special Award of Distinction to recognize her tireless efforts on behalf of our organization as she ends her term as Chair.

 

Prior to 2013, individuals, businesses and organizations were selected for six categories including Business, Stewardship, Education, The Arts, Health, and Youth.  The winners for each categories were:
