Birds at Barnum

Begins at 7:30AM on Thursday June 24. Leader, Ed Poropat (local naturalist)t. Learn about field birds and the many other bird species who make Barnum Creek Nature Reserve their home.

NOTE:  This event is currently full.  We are attempting to set up another walk with a second small group.  If you would like to be added to a list to receive information about this possibility, please email our office administrator at admin@haliburtonlandtrust.ca.

 

When - 7:30 AM to approx. 9:30 AM, Thursday June 24

Where - meet at the kiosk at Barnum Creek Nature Reserve, 1118 Gould Crossing Rd., Haliburton ON.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions only nine participants and the leader may attend.  Please bring a mask to wear while in close proximity to others. Please respect distancing protocols. If you cannot attend, please email our office at admin@haliburtonlandtrust.ca and let us know so we can invite someone from the waiting list. 

You will walk some of the beautiful trails at Barnum Creek Nature Reserve and spend time listening and watching for birds.  Ed will also invite you to visit the nesting boxes which are in place to see what kind of activity might be happening there. 

You may want to bring a bug jacket or hat or repellent.  The bugs have not been terrible but they could be irritating in the morning.  Please dress for the weather.  Bring binoculars or your camera if you wish.
