The Haliburton Highlands Land Trust (HHLT) engages in activities and projects that align with our core objectives. To stay up-to-date on our projects, enroll in our newsletter by clicking here.
Projects are selected based on the following criteria.
- The project is funded
- The project will benefit HHLT properties, our community and Haliburton County
- The project aligns with our strategic plan
Our principal conservation efforts focus on our 5 properties and the management and maintenance of each of our properties in perpetuity. HHLT depends on volunteers to help monitor and maintain our properties. To learn more about volunteering, please click here. We also rely on funding from membership, community organizations and donors to fund our day-to-day operational and property management expenses. We rely on grants from local, provincial and federal agencies to fund conservation projects as well as projects focusing on education and research. We also work with community members, businesses, non-profit organizations and governments to identify, manage and research areas of interest, promote and deliver environmental programs, and secure funds to continue and strengthen the mission and vision of the Land Trust.
On our projects pages (current projects, conservation projects, education projects and research projects), you'll find examples of current and past projects.
