Strong Community Support for Highlands Corridor Protection

January 21, 2023

A recent community and stakeholder survey produced as part of HHLT’s 2022-23 strategic planning process indicated strong support for HHLT’s work on protecting the Highlands Corridor. Survey respondents were asked how important it is for the HHLT to advocate for land protection beyond its properties, such as for initiatives like the Highlands Corridor.  A link to further information about the Corridor was given under the question.  A full 92% of respondents felt this was very important (74%) or somewhat important (18%).

In addition, when asked what goals HHLT should prioritize, both supporting stewardship planning for privately owned natural areas and encouraging private and government sectors to set aside significant natural areas ranked as high priorities.
