The Land Trust hosts educational programs, workshops, and events throughout the year. Our events are developed with a number of goals in mind:
- Education – We invite speakers, event facilitators, hike guides, and other folks with expertise in one field or another to lead groups, give a talk, or share their knowledge with us. We always learn something new, and hope you will enjoy the opportunity to do so, too!
- Community Outreach – Our Land Trust is working hard to tell people about what we do, and about the importance of good stewardship of our natural world, both to the community at large and to individuals. The benefits of our environment are far reaching – socially, economically, and in all aspects of human health.
- Fundraising – The Haliburton Highlands Land Trust is a registered charity, and our work is supported in large part through donations from individuals, our members, and the various events that we put on as fundraisers.
- Fun! – The Land Trust community is a great group of diverse, interesting, and friendly people. Each event is a little different, but one thing they all have in common is that a good time is had by all!
